Germany's Largest Cable Network Operator Chooses Tufin's SecureApp to Automate Application Connectivity Management and Improve Security; Kabel Deutschland and Tufin to Present an In-depth Case Study at InfoSec UK
Tufin Technologies, the market-leading provider of Security Policy Management solutions, today announced that Kabel Deutschland, Germany's largest cable operator, has chosen Tufin SecureApp in order to deploy applications quickly, to improve system availability and decrease its exposure to potential data breaches and hacker attacks. Dr. Ulrich Theissen, Manager IT Security at Kabel Deutschland, will co-present with Tufin an in-depth case study on the deployment at the InfoSec UK Conference on Tuesday April 23rd at 12:40 p.m. in the Technical Theatre.
Dr. Ulrich Theissen, said: "Due to the huge number of applications, interfaces and services these days, the firewall change process is getting less and less agile without an advanced tool to detect and mitigate risks. Because applications are the lifeblood of our organization and drive the vast majority of firewall changes, we needed to make sure our firewall management processes accounted for application related risk. For example, even a simple application-based rule change such as the opening of unnecessary ports, could expose us to a serious security breach."
Tufin SecureApp completely rethinks the way firewalls are managed and provides large organizations with the ability to automate application connectivity management safely and securely. This provides large enterprises with an answer to a problem which has been a recent major headache for them - managing firewall change processes to account for the massive rise in the number of networked enterprise applications being developed and the speed at which they have to be deployed during a period of unprecedented hacker attacks and data breaches.
Theissen continued: "We chose Tufin SecureApp and are deploying the full Tufin Security Suite because it identifies and proactively monitors all necessary network access for business applications and creates a much cleaner, more reliable and much more transparent firewall policy. Because this data is continuously updated and automatically 'customized' for our needs, we're confident that our process will be optimized and that potential threats will be reduced to a minimum."
Reuven Harrison, CTO of Tufin said: "Enterprises are becoming increasingly reliant on applications in order to gain business advantage and offer better services to their customers. However, being able to deploy new applications quickly and securely without disrupting day to day activities can be extremely difficult and lead to wasting precious resources on time consuming and error prone tasks, such as application deployment, maintenance and decommissioning. By using SecureApp, companies can manage the network connectivity of enterprise applications and help security, application and operations teams to remain agile, efficient, and able to adjust to today's fast-changing business and IT requirements."
