This year’s RSA Conference, which is expected to draw more than 45,000 attendees, will be full of sessions on cryptography, application security, hackers and threats, law, policy and government, data privacy, and technology operations, to name only a few.
A prominent RSA topic this year is cloud security and virtualization. RSA’s cloud security sessions include the Cloud Security Alliance’s annual pre-conference summit, a discussion of multi-cloud security, an examination of incident response in the public cloud, and a “shootout” in the cloud security “Wild West”- but what about managing security policies for both on-premises and cloud-based solutions?
In a world where 91% of organizations are actively using cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and/or platform-as-a-service (PaaS) as part of their IT strategy, but 69% of those same companies are still learning how to apply security policies to public/private cloud infrastructure, managing security policies has become more challenging than ever. As organizations continue to adopt software defined networking (SDN) and cloud-based platforms, info security teams will continue to play a game of cat-and-mouse with attackers, leaving companies of all sizes at higher risk for vulnerabilities and cyberattacks. With new vulnerabilities being discovered every day, businesses can no longer apply a “set it and forget it” mentality when it comes to network-based appliances and firewalls.
That being said, it’s no surprise that Gartner recently gave network security policy management (NSPM) a “high” benefit rating in its latest Hype Cycle for Infrastructure Protection report. Because companies are increasingly looking to the cloud for greater efficiency and flexibility, but also worry about the security of their data and other functions they are moving there, the demand for NSPM tools is growing rapidly. Organizations need these solutions to provide consistent and robust security policy control across on-premises and cloud environments, including automatic discovery, visibility, design, provisioning, and policy enforcement to ensure business continuity.
To help IT security pros better apply security policies to public/private cloud infrastructure, we will unveil the latest update to our powerful Tufin Orchestration Suite during RSA. R16-4 will offer IT teams the ability to define and enforce a centralized tag policy for cloud platforms and to tighten firewall policies by decommissioning redundant or unnecessary rules. Stay tuned for full details.
We’re excited to see that the hot trends and topics at RSA this year fit well with the emergence of the NSPM market as a must-have solution for large enterprises.
If you’ll be at the conference, swing by our booth #S1821 to talk all things NSPM and demo Tufin Orchestration Suite R16-4.
