The Negev Desert, in Israel’s Southern region, became the stage for the finale of Tufin’s Global Sales Kick-off Week 2013. After three days of intensive and productive meetings in Tel Aviv, the Company employees boarded buses for the rugged, expansive terrain. The globally diverse team had the unique opportunity of coming together to participate in challenging activities in the great outdoors. Enduring the dangerous curves and bumps on a mountain bike trip, overcoming a strenuous climb in a canyon, and surviving a 40 minute camel ride (truly a one-time experience, and no more)… each and every one came out a true trouper.
The evening led to loud laughs, authentic food and good spirits. Talents shone brightly during a company “talent show”, dancing prowess was demonstrated on the dance floor, and sleeping in a Bedouin tent ‘en masse’ further corroborated our survival skills (personally, despite the sound effects, I slept like a baby!… must have been that desert air).
Being new to the company, I recognized that I had become a part of something bigger, something great. In this day and age, it is rare to find a workplace which possesses an inherent company culture where people are not only professional and dedicated, but also talented and inspired in other aspects, bringing a unique diversity and creating an atmosphere of creativity and vision for the future.
As 2013 begins and promises to be an exciting year for Tufin, if I find myself on a dark, desert highway… or more likely, elsewhere, I might just pause and smile, and hum to myself…
“Welcome to the Hotel Tufinfornia… Such a lovely place.
