There’s now an innovative mechanism for automatically discovering and modeling AWS cloud-based applications. Our recent release of Tufin Orchestration Suite provides this unique insight, along with many key enhancements available now in R16-1.
We hear from more and more of our enterprise customers about their increased challenges of managing security and compliance–especially for applications running in the cloud. CISOs and CSOs must accomplish this enterprise-wide without impacting business agility for DevOps teams. The first step required is often providing granular visibility into the resources and applications in terms of security and connectivity. Before actually managing changes to security controls in the cloud, security teams require comprehensive, ongoing insight into application connectivity dependencies (setup by DevOps). Lack of accurate, automated discovery can lead to misconfigurations that impact mission-critical applications and disrupt business. So, Application Modeling that extends up into the cloud, such as in R16-1, is essential for enterprise security.
Policy Permissiveness Controls for tightening enterprise-wide security and compliance are a powerful new capability for orchestrating security policies from a single console. What this means is that when defining and enforcing the enterprise-wide policy using Tufin’s Unified Security Policy™ (USP), it’s now possible to add zone-to-zone access limitations by level of permissiveness, according to IP addresses and services, as well as flow limitations (i.e., host-to-host). And for bolstering continuous compliance for all industries doing online credit card transactions, there’s an essential update to the encryption protocol, supporting Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2, as required by the PCI DSS 3.1 standard, effective from June 30, 2016.
